my secret to hydrated skin

Being a busy mama of two now, I feel like I never really sit still. I’m either in the car driving to swim lessons, running around after a (very quick) crawling Boone, or folding seemingly never-ending piles of laundry. And don’t get me wrong, I love how busy this stage of life has become. My skin? Not so much. When I was pregnant with Boone, my skin was drier than it’s ever been before. The skin on my face was actually flaking for months- I felt like my face was one big onion peeling back layers little by little. It was frustrating, and nothing seemed to help the dryness, which lasted for months until I recently discovered a game-changing secret: Olay Mists.

I have always used and loved Olay skin care. My mom taught me from a young age that beauty products didn’t have to be super expensive to work well. My mom has always loved Olay products and it’s easy to see why- they are amazing quality at a price you don’t have to feel guilty about spending. Sharing more about my new favorite Olay product below…

When I discovered Olay Mists were just $9.99 at Target, I couldn’t believe it. You guys, these Mists will change your skin in the best possible way. I never leave home without the Olay Energizing Mist- it gives me a skin hydration boost on the go that helps keep my make-up in place and brightens my dull skin. Now that winter is basically here in Houston, my skin needs all the help it can get in the hydration department. Does your skin get dry in the winter, too? If so you have to try these! Our skin benefits so much from one bottle jam-packed with Vitamin C, Bergamot and Vitamin B3.

I use the Calming Mist at home both right after I apply my make-up as a setting spray (it really works!) and at night after taking off my make-up, right before bed. The botanical ingredients not only make this Mist smell amazing but seem to tell my skin to “chill out” when it is feeling super dry. I love products with Aloe since I know this is a natural ingredient that won’t harm my skin, and the Olay Calming Mist has Aloe Leaf, Chamomile and Vitamin B3 as its main hydration-boosting ingredients. And if I’m being completely honest, sometimes I spray the mists on my face just for fun, because I love the way it feels. You know that feeling when you’ve just done an hour-long sweaty work-out and take that first big drink of ice-cold water? How good it feels going down? That’s the same feeling my skin gets when I nourish it with an Olay Mist. And I don’t even have to run 3 miles to get it….although I do probably chase Boonester around the house that much in an hour.

I tend to ramble, as y’all know, but my point is this: Whether you’re a busy mom on the go or plan to sit on the couch and watch Hallmark Christmas movies for the next 2 months, Olay Mists can and will help your skin. And they’re affordable. I plan on using both the Calming and Energizing Mists as stocking stuffers this year because no matter what age, lifestyle, or skin-type a person has, these Mists reap the same benefits. And who doesn’t want softer, brighter more hydrated and healthy skin? I’m proof that they work and trust me, this mama needed a lot of help. Now if I could just find a way to energize the rest of me as much as my skin, I’d be set.
Have you tried the new Olay Mists from Target? If so I’d love to hear your experience!

my beauty routine with Sephora inside JCPenney

When it comes to beauty products, there's nowhere I'd rather shop than Sephora inside JCPenney. The selection is HUGE, the products are top notch quality, and they carry all my favorite brands. Of course I enjoy picking up lipsticks, foundation, and more for myself, but this time of year I also love to find products I can gift all the girls in my life that I know they'll go crazy over. Urban Decay has some of the most amazing new products that I LOVE and want to share with you below in case you're doing holiday shopping (or just want to treat yourself- no judgement here!).

I always start my beauty routine with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion- you can use this just on your eyelids or all over your face as a primer. It really moisturizes and helps make-up and eyeshadow go on smoothly (and stay all day).

After applying some tinted moisturizer, I'll use a brush to apply shadow from the Urban Decay Distortion Palette. The colors are SO beautiful and I'll blend based on what I'm wearing that day or how glam I feel like getting- you can go as subtle as you want for work or go all out for a holiday party. That's my favorite thing about this palette- the possibilities are endless!

Next I'll use the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye and Lip pencils- I use the eyeliner first to add a "pop" to my eyes and then go ahead and line my lips to make them look a little fuller (I need all the help I can get). I'll put on my favorite Vice Lipstick in "Big Bang", the prettiest shade of pink, before finishing off my eyes with the Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara. I've tried many a mascara and can honestly say this one is fabulous- it goes on thick and does the trick in just one or two coats depending on your preference. I use one coat for daily wear and add a second if I have an event or party that night. It never clumps and dries quickly, which is always nice for a mom on the go!

I always finish my look off with the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray- I've learned from many a makeup artist, along with my own trial and error, just how important a good setting spray is. This one is amazing and keeps my makeup in place all day, even in the muggy Houston humidity! I always throw an extra lipstick or two in my purse as I'm heading out because I'm inevitably drinking Diet Coke or coffee and need a touch-up. :)

In case you're wanting to try any of these products for yourself (and you should!), they're all available at Sephora inside JCPenney AND it's your lucky day because I'm giving away one of the Urban Decay Distortion Palettes over on Instagram (@brittfullwood)! Head over there to enter- I promise this is a palette that you'll love as it looks great on all skin tones and the shadows go on like butter.

I try to keep my makeup routine simple and efficient as a stay-at-home mom who's always on the go. Thankfully Sephora inside JCPenney and Urban Decay make it easy on me!
What's on your Christmas wishlist this year? I'd love to hear in the comments!

girls' day at Radiance

Last Saturday, my friend Aimey and I had the pleasure of being pampered at Radiance Advanced Skin & Body Care in The Woodlands. It was such a treat for each of us as we're both pregnant and have a little one at home! Radiance Spa offers all kinds of packages and services; I'm already excited to go back after this baby is born and experiment with Botox and Dermal Fillers (I've never had either one but am starting to need them). No shame in my wrinkle game! The staff at Radiance is so friendly and knowledgeable; I've been there several times now and am so impressed with the kindness and talent of everyone who works there. Truly professionals who are amazing at what they do and offer the ultimate pampered spa experience!

Aimey and I started the morning with a full body prenatal massage which was honestly one of the best, if not THE best, massages I've ever had. I tried to get a massage elsewhere a few months ago and had to walk out in the middle because I was so uncomfortable and thought I was going to pass out, so I was a little nervous going into Saturday. This was a completely different experience in the best way possible; our masseuse was amazing and I never wanted the massage to end! That's when you know it's a great one. After that we got custom facials, which were also out of this world and incredibly relaxing (read about the customizing options here). I love that the technician took the time to really evaluate my skin and give me treatments catered to my exact needs; my skin has been noticeably softer ever since. I don't get a lot of facials but I need to start getting more, especially in the winter when my skin gets so dry.

We then enjoyed a yummy lunch before heading into the nail salon for manicures and pedicures. I wish I could remember the nail tech's name because she was seriously so sweet- I could've sat there and talked to her all day. She has two daughters and since I'm going to have two boys, we had fun laughing about the differences between the two. She made the process go by quickly and my nails are still looking great, no chips, almost a week later. After manis and pedis, we had our hair and make-up done. This was such a treat; I felt like a whole new woman! Bri, who does hair, was a master at her craft and I'm hoping to go back to her for a cut and balayage touch-up soon. Radiance also offers Eyelash and Brow Tinting which I'm interested in as I think this would make my morning routine a lot easier. I had no idea Radiance offered services like Body Sculpting, Weight Loss, and even MiraDry to help with sweating. There are tons of options and they just started 12 Days of Radiance yesterday with specials every day, so be sure and check the website HERE or call in case something catches your eye. Radiance also offers gift cards which we all know make the best gifts- so you may need to hint to your honey that little detail :). I know Zach has already been heavily hinted to!

Overall, Aimey and I had such a special day full of relaxation and "me time", just what every girl needs once in a while. If you're in The Woodlands or Houston area, I know you'll love Radiance Spa just as much as we do!
