When I first started working for Snap+Style, I was surprised at the amount of women wanting outfits styled around kimonos. While I love a good vest in the winter, I had never really seen the appeal of adding such a lightweight piece of clothing in the warmer months. Turns out this girl was missing out. The more looks I styled with kimonos, the more I started to love them and realize what a versatile wardrobe piece they can be. Going to visit your grandma who will not approve of your strapless dress? Throw on a kimono! Headed to dinner with friends to the restaurant that's always freezing? Throw on a kimono! Love the beach but not so much the sun & chilly breeze? Throw on a kimono! K I'll stop. But for the record, I could keep going. They're that great.
Lace-up sandals, and all lace-up shoes in general, are also a current trend favorite of mine. I attended a private Tidbits Neiman Marcus fashion show several weeks ago and "shoes that wrap and tie" was one of the style spotlights, which naturally had me drooling. You can read about the event and view pictures here!
Bear and I are sitting outside on the driveway as I'm typing this; he wants you all to know that he loves Dusty Crophopper (from the Disney Planes movie). It's funny to me, attempting to write about fashion while tiny plastic airplanes keep flying at my head. I might not have this whole work/mommihood balance down but we're getting there, one cold cup of coffee at a time.

p.s. Thank you for each and every one of your comments, emails, texts, and Facebook messages concerning yesterday's post. Just because I have a blog does not mean I have all the answers, or any of them for that matter, and knowing that we're all in this adventure called parenthood together is really comforting. I love hearing your experiences, and I'm constantly inspired by each of you that choose to share your story. Sending big virtual hugs your way!
