When it comes to holiday parties, I have a hard time staying away from pops of red. It's just such a happy, festive color that looks good on everyone! This bag from Mezzanotte is quickly becoming my new favorite- it's the perfect size for holding all of my necessities for an evening out (and also happens to be on major sale right now). I also love pairing different textures, like a mix of (faux) leather and velvet. A midi skirt is a great option if you want to be more modest than a miniskirt and let's face it- my legs are way too white to be baring above the knee. I promise I had a nice tan back in the summer! That's what several months of nonstop Netflix, delivery pizza, and sweatpants will do for ya.
In high school and college, life itself revolved around what my friends and I were doing for New Year's Eve. We planned for weeks, months even, about what we'd be doing when that faithful ball dropped on the 31st of December (1st of January? whatevs). Nowadays, I am turning down every NYE celebration invite we get without hesitation because all I wanna do is cuddle up on the couch with my boys, hot chocolate, and my new giant Walmart blanket (don't ask). There's a pretty good chance the boys will be asleep long before the clock strikes midnight, so they're not exactly down to party. I'm a night owl so I'll definitely be up, but I'm choosing slippers over sequins this year and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Maybe my last New Year's Eve in my twenties should be a bit more eventful....but then again, there are few parties that match up to Papa John's and Love Actually (guaranteed to take place on NYE at the Fullwoods). If any of you Houstonians are feeling just as chill as we are, you're welcome to come over in your jammies for a real snoozefest. :)
I'd love to hear your NYE plans! Do you go all out and host your own extravagant party? Or lay low (literally) like us? Either way, I wish you the happiest of New Year's. And a VERY Merry Christmas!
