Hello my sweet long-lost friends! I'm sorry I've been so MIA- I only did one blog post last week as some of you may have noticed and that hasn't happened in a LONG time. My excuse is a mix of writer's block, a crazy busy week, and laziness. I hope you'll forgive me for being a bad blogger! I hope to make up for my lack of posts with a series coming the rest of this week- how to make money with affiliate links. This won't just be targeted only to other bloggers but also small business owners, fellow mamas, or just anyone in search of making an extra (easy) buck. :)
I had the honor of speaking at the Thrive pop-up over the weekend and affiliate links were my topic of discussion. I'm by no means an expert but I've been using affiliate links for about two years now and I finally feel like I know the ropes well enough to help others! I had several emails after the workshop asking for my presentation notes/PowerPoint, so I decided to share the info on the blog for anyone else who couldn't make the event and would like to know more about working with affiliates. Be on the look-out for these posts the rest of this week!
After Thrive, I headed to Hotel Sorella in City Center for the ultimate girls weekend which was so seriously the best. I loved getting to spend time with some of my very favorite ladies, lay out by the gorgeous pool, and enjoy the views from our amazing penthouse suite. I honestly felt like we were living inside a Bruno Mars music video- that penthouse was LEGIT, you guys. Sonoma hosted us for dinner Saturday night at their Upper Kirby location which made for the perfect girls' night spot. The food was delicious, the wine was overflowing, and the live music had us all singing along. We even got one of our blogger babes, Tayler, up to sing "Free Falling" and she was amazing. We have an American Idol on our hands! Dawn and I also told the musician that it was Shelbi's birthday (six months too late), which gave us even more giggles when he serenaded her with Happy Birthday. All in all it was such a fun night!
I couldn't wait to get home yesterday and when I walked in the back door, Bear was laying on the ground playing with one of his toys. I coughed a little so he'd notice me and as soon as he looked up, he had the biggest smile and came running into my arms. Heart melted into a puddle on the ground. No matter how much fun I have on a trip or staycation, nothing beats the moment my little man greets me with a giant hug. Bear baby, you are and always will be the pineapple of my eye.
