hair accessories

Everywhere I look right now, I’m seeing the cutest hair accessories! From barrettes to scrunchies, hair has a lot of flair going on and I’m here for it. Sharing some of my favorite trends below and talking about why most of these are in my cart ready to order.

Set of 3 Pearl Barrettes- This accessory is eeeeeeverywhere right now, so chances are this isn’t the first place you’re seeing them. But I went on the hunt for the best, most affordable sets for y’all and these ranked at the top! They have amazing reviews and are under $7 for a set of 3.
2. 3-pack Zella Scrunchies- The 90’s called and they want their scrunchies back, but we’re not giving them up. I really didn’t think this fad would make a come-back but turns out it has and I’m not mad about it. Scrunchies are so much better on your hair than the typical elastic hair ties, and this set is much cuter, too!
3. 6-pack Slipsilk Skinny Hair Ties- These hair ties are spun from silk to make sure your ponytail doesn’t leave those tacky creases we all hate. You’ve heard me talk about this brand before and their pillow cases that are the holy grail for hair care- now I must have these hair ties, too.
4. Leopard Barrette- This is such a pretty piece that would dress up any regular up-do. I’m ordering one for the days I want my hair pulled half-up since leopard is obviously a neutral. :)
5. Satin Scrunchie Hair Scarf- I don’t own any of these but have heard amazing things from friends about how easy they are to wear. No tying or falling out because of the handy hidden scrunchie. Perfect for jazzing up your summer ponytails.
6. Set of 4 Acrylic Hair Clips- More barrettes…I told y’all these are everywhere! I haven’t seen any like this and love the bright, fun colors and patterns. I would wear two of these together with a simple white cami and denim shorts to add a pop of color to a spring outfit.
7. Set of 4 Pearl Barrettes- I’m all for “the bigger the better”, especially when it comes to this trend. You’ll get 4 pretty barrettes for under $8.
8. Satin Hair Scarf- I own this hair scarf already and love it, so I feel comfortable recommending it to y’all. The quality is great and feels like it would cost much more than it does. I think I need a few more colors like the maroon polka dot and navy with lemons.
9. Something Navy Straw Headband- I love this headband because it has a vintage feel while adding a chic touch to any outfit. So many hair accessories have bright, fun colors but this one is a neutral straw that matches everything and feels summery.
10. Set of 6 Hair Clips- A sturdy set of chic hair clips for practical yet stylish use.

Have you hopped on the hair accessory bandwagon? If so, which are your favorite to wear? You’ll see many more coming to the blog soon!

the best last minute beauty gifts

We are officially 2 weeks away from Christmas and I can hardly contain my excitement!! I also can hardly contain my stress because I have a lot of shopping left to do. I usually tackle it all early and am finished by this point, but this year I seem to be lagging on everything and still have quite a few names to check off. The men are always my challenge- I never know what to get the guys. But the girls? That’s easy! I head to Sephora inside JCPenney to find the newest and best beauty products that any girl will love. Family gift exchange? Secret Santa swap? Hard-to-please SIL? Sephora inside JCPenney has something for everyone. Sharing what I picked up last week for a girlfriend gift below!

My favorite way to give a gift to a girlfriend for Christmas is in a beautiful stocking that she can use, and isn’t much more than a gift sack that would just end up in the trash. I fill the stocking with products that I know she will love and use, all found at Sephora inside JCPenney. I avoid ULTA and department store beauty counters because during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, they’re so picked over and I can never find what I need. I love that Sephora inside JCPenney always has a great selection, and around the holidays they have the cutest sets!

I picked up this Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Collection for $28 ($84 value) that I’m thinking I’ll have to go back and get for myself. If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know that I love and swear by Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains. They have such great pigment and last all day without drying out my lips like other liquid lipsticks. This set is a steal and has shades for every season. I also grabbed the Sephora Collection Wish Upon a Star Mini Brush Set that is just $15 and creates the perfect eyeshadow blend. For the last stocking stuffer, I opted for the OUAI Memory Mist because I’ve been using the spray for months and it is a miracle worker. Not only does the Memory Mist hold a hairstyle like no other, but it also acts as a heat protectant. It also smells amazing- I get asked often what perfume I’m wearing and I don’t wear any (since Boone is nursing). It’s the Memory Mist!

All 3 of these products fit perfectly inside a stocking and make for the cutest holiday gift. I always include a lipstick or gloss so I can tie a note on the stocking that says "Mistletoe Survival Kit"- it's always a hit! It was so easy to run inside Sephora inside JCPenney at our local mall because there was no wait and an employee helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Their customer service is unmatched and so are their prices this holiday season. You have to go see for yourself!
Have you tried any of these products? I’d love to hear!
