your confident color

We all have certain types of clothing that we feel most comfortable in: yoga pants, stretchy jeans, flowy dresses, etc. For me, it's definitely stretchy pants and a tank top (this is my at-home uniform). What we don't seem to favor as much as specific clothing items is clothing color, which is equally, if not more, important. Sure we all love a good black top or dress, because black is universally slimming and looks great on everyone. But aside from the go-to LBD, have you ever really thought about what color looks best on you? It took me years to find my "confident color" and many oranges and lavenders later, I'm so glad I did.

It's not that red looks best on me, because I can easily look a not-so-hot mess in any hue. After much trial and error, red is the color I feel most myself in. I love that it's vibrant and bold, yet still classic and timeless. Red doesn't live inside a seasonal box, it's a color of all seasons and holidays: Christmas, Valentine's Day, Fourth of July. If red could talk it would say "I'm a fiery vixen and you best not mess with me." And other days it would say "I'm a sweet candy apple lollipop from the land of hearts and rainbows". Oh delightful red, you know no bounds. And that's why I love you.

I realize that I sound like I'm on LSD talking about rainbows and lollipops but the truth is I'm on my third cup of coffee and Bear is on his fourth watermelon popsicle. At 9:30am. We could be in for a long day. But the sun is out and we're headed to the zoo so no sugar low is gonna get us down. Happy weekend, loves!
