diy sprinkle monogram

Last week, Bear and I hosted a baby shower in our home for one of the moms in our playgroup. Michelle is precious to us and we were so happy to make sure she was "sprinkled with love". A full shower recap is coming to the blog next week, but for now I wanted to share a small DIY from the shower that got a lot of questions. Behold, the sprinkle monogram:

As you can tell, this project is a wee bit messy. Two weeks later and I'm still finding those obnoxious little sprinkles all over our house. I don't regret making it though, because the initial was such a cute (and easy) addition to the main table!

You'll need
-large cardboard initial
-multi-colored sprinkles
-clear spray
-Mod Podge
-paint brush

Step One: Pour sprinkles into a dish large enough to lay the initial flat inside.

Step Two: Coat the letter in Mod Podge using your paint brush. Be sure to get the sides as well (just not the bottom or back).

Step Three: Give your letter a sprinkle bath! Lay it face down first, then turn it over and pour sprinkles over the empty spots by hand. Allow to dry. If needed, repeat this step again until letter is fully covered.

Step Four: Take outside and spray with clear spray to set. Allow to dry.

You're all done and now have a bright, fun monogram to display! Mine didn't turn out perfectly but unless closely inspected, you couldn't really tell (that's what I'm telling myself anyway). We are planning an ice cream playdate in our backyard for June and I have a feeling I'll be making something similar. Summertime and sprinkles are a match made in heaven.

Thank you for reading! And thank you so much to everyone that commented and emailed about Sunday's post; I'm so grateful for your feedback and am taking it to heart. I want this blog to be a place that you enjoy visiting, so what you think and feel matters very much to me. And I always love hearing from you regardless!
